Flat Breather Netting
Product Description:
Our Flat Breather Netting is a clear plastic sheet material that is softer (and thinner) than our regular Breather Netting. This is an alternate breather that will not leave a pattern of bumps in delicate veneer as our other breather might do while under vacuum. The sheet of material also assists in preventing veneer (especially very thin material) from forming bubbles while being pressed. It is not as robust as our regular breather and it may tear more easily, especially if trying to remove dried glue from it.
Flat Breather Netting
- One 24” x 24” sheet
Lay the Flat Breather Netting on top of your project to be vacuum pressed.
Ensure that the breather is positioned directly under the valve so that air will channel along the breather and out of the TAP bag through the pump.
A large-ish piece of breather laid across your project is sufficient to draw the air from the whole project. It does not have to fully cover the entire pressing.
Use scissors to cut the breather to the shape you want.

Flat Breather Netting is reusable as long as there is no dried glue stuck to it that will cause a dent in the next pressing.
TIP: use a sheet of waxed paper in between the pressing and the breather to ensure no glue sticks to the breather.
Q: Is there anything else can I use if I can’t find my Flat Breather Netting?
A: There are conventional breather materials available, however the benefit of this is that it is transparent and allows you to see if any veneer has slipped or out of place while pressing.
